Therapeutic use of Qi and Sacred Dance movements
Qigong Therapy is a form of Chinese Energetic Medicine, and is one of the four foundational schools of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Qi in this context is translated to mean "Life Force Energy" and Gong is translated to mean "Acquired Skill." Qigong therapy and prescriptions combine the use of breathwork with individual physical movements, creative visualization, and perceptual intention. The primary goal is to purge toxic emotions from within the body's tissues, eliminate energetic stagnation's, as well as strengthen and balance the internal organs and energetic fields. The classes will concentrate on building a foundation for using movement as a therapeutic modality and rehab from dance injuries. Fundamental of Labon's movement analysis will be used to assess the dancer's strength and weakness in order to prescribe a strengthening and realignment of one's body and core strength. At the end of the classes, each dancer will have a few basic qigong exercise as take home practice.

I see too many young dancers having no time...
no time to understand a correction, no time to discover who they are, no time to fall,
no time to look for an authentic quality of movement...
In order to grow, you need to fail.
So, I invite you to fail, with me, as your guide, and take the time to delve into the depth of the work.
I invite you to a deep sea diving.
I invite you to join me in a process.
I invite you to take risks.
I invite you to get lost, so you can clarify your artistic voice.
I invite you to a space where you will have plenty of time to apply corrections and find your unique path as a dancer.
The day will start with Qigong - chi kung - an ancient movement practice that works directly with presence, intention and authentic movement. I will guide the dancers to apply this practice into technical classes (ballet and modern). We will then work on partnering and choreography. Plenty of time will be then dedicated to improvisation and movement research both as an individual and as a group under my guidance.
